5-Year-Old Child Killed in Norwalk Driveway Accident
The fatality occurred Thursday evening on Wood Acre Road.

NORWALK, CT - A five-year-old Norwalk boy was struck and killed by a car pulling into a driveway on Wood Acre Road in Norwalk Thursday evening, according to police.
The accident occurred at about 5:10 p.m., and police said his identity is being withheld at this time.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was in the driveway of a residence located on Wood Acre Road," wrote Lt. Terrence Blake in a statement. "A vehicle then entered the driveway and accidentally struck [him]."

A phalanx of emergency personnel, led by Norwalk firefighters, responded to the scene in an effort to save the boy and quickly transported the him to Norwalk Hospital.
The child later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, according to police.
