Alpaca Death Probed in Norwalk, Owner Arrested

"Jimmy" the alpaca died on West Norwalk Road. He was found in poor condition and had maggots on his underside.

A nearby resident told police that the alpaca was lying on its side for two days and was concerned, according to the Norwalk Hour.

Animal Control responded on August 25 and found Jimmy in rough shape with maggots on his underside. He died minutes later.

Owner Jose Saquinaula-Sarez, 35, was charged with one count of animal cruelty on August 26.
