Amazon's First Connecticut Store Coming To The SoNo Collection

The store is in the process of hiring staff.

NORWALK, CT — Online retail giant Amazon will open a new store in The SoNo Collection mall this fall, the company's first in Connecticut, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Patch.

"Yes, we're excited to be bringing Amazon 4-star to the Norwalk area, and are currently hiring. Stay tuned for additional details down the road," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson did not offer details on when the store will open, or what positions are available, but information on jobs can be viewed by clicking here.

The store will offer an array of products including books, which have not been part of Norwalk's retail landscape since the closure of the Barnes & Noble store on Connecticut Avenue over a year ago.

"Discover products you'll love from the most popular categories on Amazon.com including devices, consumer electronics, kitchen, home, toys, books, games, and more," the description reads on the Amazon website. "Everything in the store is rated 4 stars and above, is a top seller, or is new and trending."

Patch also reached out to a spokesperson for The SoNo Collection's developer, Brookfield Properties, for comment, but they referred us back to Amazon.com for a statement.

The SoNo Collection is scheduled to open in October, though stores are expected to open on a rolling basis.

The Amazon store will join Apple, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, among others, in The SoNo Collection.
