NORWALK, CT — An area resident is $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket at a Norwalk business, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
On Friday, a Darien resident purchased a winning "Emerald 8s Extra Play" ticket at One Stop Variety in Norwalk and won $50,000, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
The CT Lottery furnishes winner information as public record.
The CT Lottery has changed its policy on announcing winners by not including the winners' full names on the list in order to protect them from potential scams, according to officials.
As of Oct. 1, 2025, the CT Lottery will no longer publish winners' names without their written consent, according to officials.
