NORWALK, CT — A car struck a bedroom and nearly injured a teenager when it crashed into a multi-residential building Wednesday afternoon in Norwalk, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Assistant Chief Timothy Reardon said the department received a report around 3 p.m. of a crash involving a car and an occupied building on North Taylor Avenue.
When crews arrived at the building, they found the vehicle had left the road, traveled over a stone wall and struck the building, Reardon said.
According to Reardon, a teenager was in the impacted bedroom at the time of the crash and narrowly escaped injury.
The driver was treated and taken to Norwalk Hospital with a minor injury, Reardon said.
One apartment was declared unfit for occupancy by the city's Building Code Enforcement Department, displacing four residents who were assisted by the American Red Cross, according to Reardon.
