NORWALK, CT — The fire department responded to a serious crash on Interstate 95 southbound between exits 14 and 13 on Friday night, officials said.
At 11:29 p.m. the Norwalk Fire Department responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Interstate 95.
Initial dispatch reports indicated the crash involved a motorcycle and SUV, with possible entrapment.
Upon arrival, rescue personnel found a motorcycle and its operator pinned beneath an SUV.
"Firefighters utilized rapid-deploy lifting equipment and shoring techniques to stabilize and raise the vehicle, allowing crews to extricate the trapped motorcyclist," fire officials said.
Fire department personnel transferred primary patient care to Norwalk Hospital EMS and continued assisting with treatment while en route to Norwalk Hospital, officials said.
The rescue operation was carried out by both the Norwalk and Darien fire departments. The condition of the patient has not been released at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the Connecticut State Police, officials added.
