Marijuana Products Seized By Police At 2 Norwalk Smoke Shops, Employees Arrested: PD

NORWALK, CT — Over 5 pounds of cannabis products were seized by officers during searches of two smoke shops in Norwalk last week, according to the Norwalk Police Department.

In a news release, Police Lt. Ramon Tejada said members of the department's Special Services Division executed a search and seizure warrant Tuesday at Wally's Convenience on Westport Avenue.

According to Tejada, police determined employees were illegally selling marijuana from the store, which is not a licensed cannabis dispensary, following a comprehensive narcotics investigation.

During the execution of the search warrant, a total of 4.15 pounds of cannabis products were seized, including flower, vapes and gummies, according to Tejada.

Emad Alawdi, 28, of Norwalk, an employee of the store, was charged with possession with intent to sell cannabis, operation of a drug factory and possession of cannabis over the legal limit.

His bond was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Tejada.

On Thursday, members of the Special Services Division executed a search warrant at Kings Tobacco and Vape Shop on Main Street, Tejada said.

According to Tejada, police determined employees were illegally selling marijuana from the store, which is not a licensed cannabis dispensary, following a comprehensive narcotics investigation.

During the execution of the search warrant, a total of 1.537 pounds of cannabis products were seized, including flower, vapes and gummies, Tejada said.

Sari Saleh, 20, of Brooklyn, N.Y., an employee of the store, was charged with possession with intent to sell cannabis and possession of cannabis over the legal limit.

His bond was set at $1,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Tejada.
