Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle, Seriously Injured In Norwalk: Police

Police said the driver fled the area and ask anyone with information to contact the Norwalk Police Department.

NORWALK, CT — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night in Norwalk, according to the Norwalk Police Department.

In a news release, Police Lt. Ramon Tejada said the department received multiple reports around 10 p.m. of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Main Street.

When officers arrived in the area with Norwalk fire and EMS crews, they found a 34-year-old man with serious injuries in the roadway, according to Tejada.

The man received emergency medical care and was taken to Norwalk Hospital for further treatment, Tejada said.

After further investigation, police determined the crash occurred within the intersection of Main Street and Plymouth Avenue, Tejada said.

According to Tejada, police also determined the vehicle was traveling northbound on Main Street at the time of the incident while the pedestrian was crossing eastbound through the intersection.

The driver fled the area immediately after the crash and failed to stop or render aid, according to Tejada.
