NORWALK, CT — Police have issued some parking reminders for Norwalk residents planning to attend the city's annual Independence Day fireworks celebration scheduled for Friday.
In a news release, Police Lt. Ramon Tejada said all vehicles must be parked legally and in designated parking areas during the event.
Any vehicle that is improperly parked, obstructing the flow of vehicular traffic, blocking driveways, intersections, fire hydrants and emergency access routes or otherwise creating a traffic hazard will be towed at the owner's expense, according to Tejada.

According to Tejada, these enforcement measures are necessary to ensure that emergency vehicles can access the area and to facilitate the safe movement of traffic before, during and after the event.
"We appreciate everyone's cooperation," Tejada wrote in a news release, "and encourage attendees to plan ahead, arrive early and park responsibly to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all."
