House Fire Reported In Norwalk, Officials Say

NORWALK, CT — Firefighters battled a blaze Saturday night.

The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 115 Stuart Avenue at approximately 10:14 p.m.

Norwalk Combined Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a house fire with the possibility of occupants still inside the residence.

Upon arrival, first-due companies encountered heavy fire in the rear of the 1½-story single-family residence with fire extending into both floors of the home, officials said.

Radiant heat from the fire also ignited a detached garage and caused damage to the siding of a neighboring home, officials said.

Due to the volume of fire and the exposure hazard, second and third alarms were quickly transmitted, bringing all five Norwalk engine companies to the scene, officials said.

The bulk of the fire was brought under control within approximately 20 minutes.

No occupants were inside the residence at the time of the fire. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported.

The residence was undergoing renovations and was unoccupied; therefore, no residents were displaced, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Division.
