NORWALK, CT — Swimming has been temporarily suspended at the beach in Norwalk due to recent heavy rainfall, city officials announced Wednesday morning.
In a Facebook post around 7 a.m., city officials said there is no swimming at Calf Pasture and Shady Beach until further notice due to a heavy amount of rain in a short period of time.
"We apologize for any inconvenience but this is for the safety of our residents," city officials wrote on Facebook.
Heavy rainfall passed through Norwalk on Tuesday, resulting in "numerous reports of flooding" throughout the city in the afternoon, according to police.
