Popular Pizzeria Celebrates 30 Years In Norwalk

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Pizza & Pasta, a local favorite that serves up hot fresh pizzas, pasta dishes, salads and more, celebrated 30 years in business this month.

A celebration took place Thursday afternoon at the pizzeria, located at 13 Winfield Street, during which Mayor Barbara Smyth read a proclamation declaring July 16, 2026, as "Norwalk Pizza & Pasta Day."

Smyth also encouraged all residents "to congratulate one of Norwalk's treasured local businesses on their three decades of success with the hope that it will remain for many more decades to come and continue to feed generations of Norwalk residents."

Owners Luis and Kristen Solis said they were feeling enormously grateful to be celebrating three decades in business in Norwalk.

"It's very emotional, honestly," Kristen Solis said to Patch. "More than I thought it would be...We appreciate the support. It's been amazing."

The couple agreed that Norwalk was a great place to operate a business like their pizzeria.

"The community is very tight and supportive," Luis Solis said to Patch. "Everybody knows each other. It's awesome."

Since opening in 1996, Norwalk Pizza & Pasta has served generations of customers who enjoy coming back for their favorite dishes and trying new items on the menu.

"People would come in [the restaurant] in strollers, and now they're pushing the strollers with their kids, so that's been amazing," Kristen Solis said. "To see generations growing, it's been awesome."

Luis Solis said he was working at a pizzeria in the Rowayton area of the city when he decided to open his own place.

Norwalk Pizza & Pasta was originally located at 236 East Avenue, where it remained for many years before recently moving to a bigger space on Winfield Street.

The pizzeria's menu offers a wide range of regular and specialty pizzas, as well as a number of classic and unique appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, pasta dishes, baked dishes and more.

Luis Solis recommended anyone who has not visited his pizzeria yet to try the pizza club sandwich or the penne ala vodka

"To tell you the truth though, we can create anything for anybody," Luis Solis said.

Greater Norwalk Chamber President Shannon O'Toole Giandurco praised the pizzeria for its customer service, as well as its menu and delivery service.

"I think with any business, customer service is one of the most important things that will make a business succeed, and they are incredible," O'Toole Giandurco said. "They are top notch."

She also highlighted the owners' devotion to their business and the pride they take in serving their customers each day.

"I think Norwalk embraces companies that embrace Norwalk," O'Toole Giandurco said. "Everybody works together, and they've done a great job of being a part of the community. Even when they moved, people moved with them, and they're excited to have some more seating, some more parking. It's given them an opportunity to expand, so it's all great."

Norwalk Pizza & Pasta is open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., according to the pizzeria's website.

"Congratulations to Luis and Kristen on such great success," O'Toole Giandurco said, "and we look forward to many more years."
