Five Iron Golf Opens 1st CT Location In South Norwalk

Indoor golf venue on Washington Street brings 10 simulators, dining, instruction, leagues and about 40 jobs to SoNo, the company says.

NORWALK, CT — Five Iron Golf has opened its first Connecticut location in South Norwalk, bringing an indoor golf venue with 10 simulators, food and beverage service and event space to Washington Street.

The 8,500-square-foot location at the SoNo 50 building, 50 Washington St., had a soft opening on Monday, and a grand opening celebration Wednesday. The first 50 guests in line on Wednesday received a free 30-minute simulator session, according to the company.

The two-level venue has 10 Trackman simulators that allow golfers to virtually play more than 400 courses, including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews. The simulators also provide multi-angle video analysis of players' swings for use during instruction.

The business is expected to create about 40 jobs, according to Five Iron Golf.

The Norwalk location is owned and operated by franchisees John Cornelius, Jeff Kelly, Jacob Dowden, George Jamgochian and Bruce MacKenzie. The group also operates a Five Iron Golf location in Port Chester, New York, which opened in September 2025, and plans to open another location in New Haven in 2027.

"We're incredibly excited to officially open Five Iron Golf's first Connecticut location here in South Norwalk," Cornelius, a co-owner of the Norwalk location, said in a statement. "Fairfield County has an incredible golf community, but it's also a place where people are always looking for new ways to get together."

Cornelius said the owners sought to create a venue for golfers to practice throughout the year as well as a gathering place for families, friends and coworkers.

"Whether you're taking a lesson, introducing your kids to the game, hosting a corporate outing or just meeting friends after work, we think there's something here for everyone," he said.

The venue includes two full-service bars, a kitchen and private event space. It also features artwork by Boston-based artist Erica Hagler, who works professionally as Blind Fox.

Five Iron Golf said the Norwalk location will offer coaching, seasonal leagues, tournaments and Callaway Tour Fitting services. Registration is open for its fall league, which begins in September.

Programming will also include junior clinics for children ages 6 to 14 and programs and instruction for women. The ownership group said it plans to partner with First Tee and other local organizations on youth golf programs and community initiatives in Fairfield County.

The company is also offering a Founding Membership to its first 100 new members. The membership includes a swing evaluation, $100 in Five Iron account credit, a bag tag and a hat, in addition to standard membership benefits.

The introductory membership costs $175 per month with a 12-month commitment or $189 per month with a three-month commitment. Five Iron Golf said standard rates will apply after the introductory commitment period. The offer is limited to new members.

The Norwalk location is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to midnight Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
