NORWALK, CT — Two people were stabbed during a fight that broke out Sunday morning in Norwalk, according to the Norwalk Police Department.
In a news release, Police Lt. Ramon Tejada said officers responded to the area of Ely Avenue and Lowe Street around 6 a.m. after receiving a report of a fight involving approximately 10-15 people.
When officers arrived in the area, they did not find an active disturbance and began interviewing witnesses and bystanders, Tejada said.
During the investigation, officers arrested Friedston Bowen Jr., 35, of Norwalk, on charges of second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer, Tejada said.
Later that morning, officers were called to Norwalk Hospital after receiving a report of an assault, Tejada said.
According to Tejada, officers learned two people had gone to the hospital after sustaining knife wounds during a fight.
Tejada said one person sustained a facial laceration and the other person sustained a laceration to the chest area.
Detectives assumed the investigation and determined the two people had been stabbed during the previously reported fight on Ely Avenue, according to Tejada.
According to Tejada, "the investigation further determined that Bowen Jr. was responsible for the stabbings."
Bowen Jr. was subsequently charged with two counts of second-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon.
His bond was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to Tejada.
