Norwalk Public Schools Shares Survey Seeking Input In Search For New Superintendent

NORWALK, CT — The board of education is seeking the community's input as Norwalk Public Schools looks to hire a new superintendent.

According to a news release provided by the district, the Norwalk Public Schools Survey for Superintendent Search is now available to solicit feedback from families, staff and those without children in the district to gather perceptions of Norwalk Public Schools and the importance of various characteristics found in effective superintendents.

The information will be used to determine the desired characteristics of the next superintendent, according to the district.

According to the district, the survey is being conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, a search firm selected to guide this important process in the district.

District officials also noted this "ensures that individual responses are kept anonymous and confidential."

Everyone in the Norwalk community is encouraged to share their feedback by taking the survey, which is available here.

The survey can be taken in English, Spanish or Haitian Creole, according to the district.

Anyone who wishes to change the language of the survey can use the drop-down menu at the top of the page, according to the district.

Before starting the survey, users will indicate their stakeholder role and can choose more than one option.

According to the district, the options are:

• Administrator.

• Faculty.

• Student.

• Support staff.

• Parent or guardian of a student attending the Norwalk Public Schools.

• Community member without a child in the Norwalk Public Schools.

The community survey is one of the ways HYA is engaging the stakeholders of Norwalk Public Schools in its search for the district's next superintendent, according to the district.

District officials also noted the survey will close near the end of September.
