NORWALK, CT — The city's Economic and Community Development Committee is scheduled to discuss a number of new business items during its regular meeting scheduled for Thursday evening.
According to an agenda available on the city's website, the virtual meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be accessed by phone, Zoom or a recording on the city's YouTube channel.
Under "Transportation, Mobility and Parking," the committee is scheduled to consider authorizing Mayor Barbara Smyth to execute an agreement with the city's First Taxing District in the amount of $148,194.89 to relocate utilities in conflict with Phase 2A of the Wall Street Improvements project, State Projects 0102-0373 and 0102-0379, according to the agenda.
The committee is also scheduled to consider authorizing Smyth and Director of Transportation, Mobility and Parking James Travers to execute change orders and modify a contract with the First Taxing District up to $14,819.49 for contingencies related to the utility relocation work, according to the agenda.
Under "Business Development and Tourism," the committee is scheduled to consider authorizing Smyth to execute a three-year lease agreement with Neave Decor for the installation, maintenance and removal of the Wall Street and South Norwalk holiday trees, according to the agenda.
Another proposed business development and tourism item would authorize Smyth to enter into a license agreement with the Connecticut Department of Transportation for access and use of part of the state's right of way near the southern and northern Monroe Street bridge abutments for the installation, maintenance and public display of the Monroe Street Underpass Mural by Rough Edge Collective Inc., according to the agenda.
Under "Redevelopment," the committee is scheduled to consider authorizing the mayor to execute any and all documents associated with the submission of the PY51 CAPER to HUD, according to the agenda.
The agenda also includes acceptance of minutes from the Aug. 6 regular meeting and public participation.
