Several Norwalk residents and out-of-state suspects now face serious drug and tax-related charges as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal cannabis sales and fraudulent cigarette tax stamps.

Golf tournament operator lands in the rough with fraud plea (businessinsurance.com) — A Norwalk man, Kevin Kolenda, has pleaded guilty to federal wire fraud charges tied to his unlicensed Hole-in-Won prize insurance business, which sold coverage for golf and fishing contests but allegedly dodged legitimate claims. Prosecutors say charities and civic groups were among those left covering prizes themselves, and Kolenda now faces a potential prison sentence at his December 15 hearing.
