Fire Breaks Out At Multi-Family Home In Norwalk: FD

NORWALK, CT — Crews extinguished a fire that broke out at a multi-family Norwalk home Friday morning, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.

In a news release, Assistant Chief Timothy Reardon said the house fire was reported around 10 a.m. at a large multi-family Union Park home.

According to Reardon, the initial 911 call reported an odor of smoke and an activated fire alarm, while additional reports indicated there was a fire inside the structure.

When crews arrived at the building, they located the fire in a first floor apartment, Reardon said.

The fire was extinguished in approximately 20 minutes. No injuries were reported, according to Reardon.

Police and Norwalk Hospital EMS provided assistance and the American Red Cross assisted occupants who were displaced by the fire, Reardon said.

The Norwalk Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire, according to Reardon.
