Louis Cundari, Sr., 70 of Norwalk

Louis Cundari, Sr., age 70 and loving husband for 50 years of Susan Murphy Cundari died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Greenwich wood Health Care Center, after a long battle with Alzheimer s.

Louie was born in Norwalk on May 28, 1942, son of the late Rocco Cundari, Sr. and Teresa Violi Cundari.

Louie attended local Norwalk schools. He had a passion for sports and was honored by the Norwalk Old Timers Athletic Association 2005 for his leadership as a coach, Manager, Cap League Coordinator and League President. He was one of the organizers of the "Kinlock Tournament". His love of the game did not stop there as he also was a coach for a girls soft ball team in Westport and coached pitching to local high school girls. In his earlier years he played little league baseball and played with the Elk's team that won three straight Little League championships. As he grew older he became known on the mound as "Louie the Riser" for the way his ball moved. As years went by Louie pitched in for various Fast pitch soft ball teams and excelled at the plate and the bat. With his four brother's known as the "Brother's Five" bowled for many year winning many championships. He also loved golf and could often be found at Oak Hills Park Golf Club.

He was a past member of the South Norwalk Boat Club, until his illness, and was also a life time member of the Ferris Hill Club. He worked over the years as a truck driver, Limo driver and most recently for the Norwalk Board Of Education.

In addition to his wife is survived by his son, Louis Cundari, Jr., and his wife Suzanna of Norwalk, His Granddaughter, Marissa Nicole Cundari and his Grandson, Louis Cundari, IIl. both of Norwalk. Brother's, Dominic A. Cundari and James V. Cundari of Norwalk, Charles N. Cundari of Bethel, Sister's, Theresa Cundari Burnham and Virginia Cundari Falcone both of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parent's he was predeceased by his Brother, Rocco Cundari, Jr. and sisters, Frances Cundari Piro, Anna Cundari Gamberdella, Mary Cundari Martin and Margaret Cundari Howald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church on West Avenue, Norwalk at 9:30 AM on Friday, February 22. Burial will follow immediately at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.

The family, will receive friends and family on Thursday between 4 and 8PM. at Collin's Funeral Home East Avenue Norwalk, CT.
