[Norwalk, CT -December 18, 2012] Malta House (Norwalk), residence for homeless mothers with infants, announces its recent addition of a new Executive Director, Director of Philanthropy, and Bookkeeper.
Lucy Freeman will serve as Executive Director beginning November 26. A Norwalk resident, she brings two decades of experience in working with the homeless and with relevant government and private agencies in the area. Ms. Freeman served as Director of Homeless Programs with St. Luke’s Life Works in Stamford and has several years of experience in systems for collecting and maintaining data with respect to the homeless. Previous serves as Director of Quality Assurance for Laurel House a support program in Stamford for adults with emotional and mental development challenges. She holds degrees from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and New Hampshire College (M.S. in Human Services Administration).
Linda Gabriele, former Malta House Executive Director, retires after 5 years of serving Malta House in this position. Ms. Gabriele now joins the Malta House Board of Directors.

Ms. Freeman is energetic, enthusiastic and committed to the values of Malta House and our mission. She has an infectious good humor and a strong commitment to staff development. Lucy, her husband (a State employee) and two teenage daughters are neighbors of Malta House.
Jennifer Mitchell, a resident of Ridgefield, serves Malta House as Director of Philanthropy. Ms. Mitchell, a long time supporter and volunteer at Malta House, will now be assisting Malta House in the area of philanthropy and development. Ms. Mitchell has been providing advancement services for not-for-profits and Catholic Schools for over ten years. Currently, Jennifer works with 38 schools in the Diocese of Bridgeport and has been responsible in facilitating Elementary schools to launch strategic advancement programs to assist in generating philanthropic support and long-term sustainability. Jennifer is a Dame of Malta, serves on the CT Area Malta Board and is a committee member of St. Mary School Home School Association. A graduate of Franciscan University, Jennifer and her husband Mitch have two daughters and reside in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Maria Dipierro joins Malta House as Bookkeeper. A Fairfield resident, Maria is an accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ithaca college and an MBA in Human Resource Management from Pace University. She handled all HR for a 50+ person company including payroll, compensation, benefits, performance management, policies and procedure development. She has for several years been concentrating on her young children and is returning to the work force as they reach middle school. In addition to her paid employment, she has served as Board member, volunteer grant writer and event chairperson with Wilton-based Circle of Care for families of children with cancer and the Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield.
