Appellate Court Overturns Norwalk Arson Conviction: Report
Joseph Stephenson is in the midst of a prison sentence in connection with the 2013 case.

NORWALK, CT — The conviction of Joseph Stephenson, the Stamford man serving prison time in connection with the attempted firebombing of the Norwalk Courthouse in 2013, has been overturned by the state Appellate Court, writes The Hour.
In their decision, the Appellate Court justices conclude that the prosecution's case against Stephenson lacked evidence, even though Stephenson's DNA was found at the scene.
Stephenson was not arrested at the scene but later, and though a state police officer and surveillance video saw someone leave the scene, Stephenson was not definitively identified as that individual.
