Applications Available For Lottery For Norwalk's Columbus Magnet School
School and district officials were scheduled to hold an informational meeting last week but will reschedule it in the near future.

NORWALK, CT — Applications are available for the lottery for the Columbus Magnet School for next year, Norwalk School District officials announced.
The K-5 school is located at 46 Concord St. Applications must be submitted by March 23, and the lottery drawing will be held on April 20.
"We are dedicated to providing child centered experiences through an integrated curricular lens because learning is not compartmentalized," wrote Principal Medard Thomas in a statement on the school's website. "The benefits of being exposed to an integrated curriculum is supported by brain-based research. When children are routinely given the opportunity to make connections in their learning, they are awakening pathways in their brain. As a result, they are better equipped to deconstruct challenging problems. They are able to think deeply, ask probing and critical questions and make sophisticated and educated guesses."
