Aquarium To Host Adults-Only Maritime With A Twist Event

NORWALK, CT – Celebrate the summer solstice with sips and samples, sharks and seals during the Maritime with a Twist adults-only evening event on Thursday, June 21, at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.

Open to anyone age 21 and over, Maritime with a Twist features tastes from nearby restaurants in the South Norwalk (or SoNo) neighborhood, as well as refreshments by artisanal distillers and distributors. Sample them all while enjoying the entire aquarium for one price.

Participating restaurants and retailers include: Bandido Mexican Restaurant, The Blind Rhino, Burger Bar & Bistro, The Cask Republic, Evarito’s Mexican Bar & Kitchen, Harlan Publick, Killer B Burger, Knot Norm’s, La Dolce Italian Ice & Café, Local Kitchen & Beer Bar, Our House SoNo and Public Wine Bar, as well as Maikana Foods.

Pouring the tastings will be Naked Turtle White Rum and Total Wine & More of Norwalk, Asylum Distillery of Bridgeport, Eder Brothers of West Haven, and Glenlivet Scotch.

Lasting from 6 to 9 p.m., Maritime with a Twist offers a fun celebration of summer in a unique setting among seals, sharks, sea turtles, jellies and more. Weather permitting, the event will spill out onto the aquarium’s riverfront courtyard.

The Westport-based cover band Sinergy will provide live music. Media sponsor is CT Bites, and community sponsor is Building and Land Technology of Stamford.

Tickets for the June 21 event are $50 ($45 for aquarium members), with proceeds supporting the Maritime Aquarium. There’s no extra cost for food and drink after your ticketed admission.
