Arrest Made In Roommate Stabbing In Norwalk: Police

The suspect was apprehended by police early Thursday.

NORWALK, CT — A man suffered neck and other injuries early Thursday when he was stabbed by a roommate during an altercation on Bouton Street in Norwalk, according to police.

The victim, who was not identified, suffered multiple stab wounds in the altercation and was being treated at Norwalk Hospital, police said. His condition was not available.

Officers were called to an undisclosed address on Bouton Street at about 12:30 a.m. and found the bleeding victim.

"Responding officers detained the suspect, Walter Brooks-Rivera, while he was running from the scene," police said.

Detectives determined the stabbing was the result of an altercation between Brooks-Rivera and his roommate, but the case remains under investigation.

Brooks-Rivera, 19, was charged with first-degree assault. He was held in lieu of bail of $500,000 and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
