'ArtScapades' Lecture At Norwalk Public Library Jan. 29
The lecture is entitled, "Foundations of Pop Art: A Look at Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns."

From NPL: The Norwalk Public Library is pleased to present anotherArtScapades lecture, Foundations of Pop Art: A Look at Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, onWednesday, January 29, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., in the Main Auditorium, located at 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk.
This lecture will look at Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns, two artists who broke down the boundaries traditionally separating fine art from everyday life, and laid the foundation for the art world’s aesthetic embrace of commodity culture. The lives, works, and partnership of Rauschenberg and Johns will be discussed. The goal of ArtScapades is for you to develop the means to critique a work of art while learning art history and art appreciation. You will come away with, both, an understanding of these artists and their works, as well as the tools with which to effectively explore galleries and museums.
Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman of ArtScapades began teaching art appreciation in 1998. They have presented at libraries and museums in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Florida. They are pleased to be returning to the Norwalk Public Library. Visit www.ArtScapades.com for more about ArtScapades.
