The epxerience:
• Updated version includes: Hip hop and contemporary dance, street band, modern setting, new digital elements, original fashion design by Vaughn Sims, community involvement.
• One week of intensive workshop with Broadway performer Kristin Huffman, Scott Bryce, Paul Bogaev, various choreographers, agents and other guest stars from Broadway such as Phantom, Hamilton, Wicked etc.
• Two weeks of professional rehearsals with Broadway performers, musical producer Paul Bogaev and director Scott Bryce.
• Three finals shows of the musical Oliver at Fairfield Theatre Company’s “Warehouse theatre” with updated elements that reflect today’s music and dance as well as collaboration with Bridgeport Council of Churches soup kitchen and pantry to highlight the theme of homelessness, hunger and poverty. The actual themes of this musical. There will be a lot of PR surrounding this version of “Oliver”.
• Participation in NPT’s professional film documentary by producer Mark Holleran following the “making of” Oliver and the combined elements of community, business, students from lower Fairfield and students in need.
Apply by May 7 to also participate in:
• One recording session for the new musical “Open For Me”, written by Bill C. Davis (writer of Broadway and film’s “Mass Appeal”) Participants will record with Broadway pros and be featured on the recording of a single for promotion. May 31st in New Haven.
• One fashion show “Trash to Treasure” by up and coming fashion designer Vaughn Sims. These fashions will be modeled by participants (after a modeling workshop with professional models and designers) and will be used in the musical. June 4th in Fairfield.
The details:
Ages: 10 years to 19 years old must submit a 2 minute video (from your iPhone or Droid is fine to info@nptheatre.org) with:
1. Introduction by student
2. Short clip of singing, dancing or acting.
Cost for all of the above: $799 (Partial Scholarships may be available based on talent) Anyone who has participated in So Ya Wanna Be a Broadway Star is eligible for partial scholarship.
*The first 10 students to apply and be accepted will be considered for scholarships.
All participants will receive:
• 1 week Broadway/Film/TV workshop (Aug 1-6)
• 2 weeks of Professional rehearsal (Aug 8-19)
• 3 Professional shows (Aug 20- matinee and eve. Aug 21- matinee)

Networking and Mentoring by professionals
Fashion show experience
Recording Session experience
Documentary experience
Professional credit added to resume
Crew and technical positions available for only 5 selected people
Cost: $599
Must be able to work well with Professional guidance and mentoring as well as on own.

These positions will be considered “internships” as you will be working closely with professionals. You will also be involved in all the above activities from Fashion show to Final show production.
