Beloved Former Norwalk High Girls Basketball Coach, Teacher Dies At 52
He guided the Norwalk High's girls basketball team to three undefeated championships and a state championship, according to his obituary.
NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk High School community is mourning the loss of Richard "Ricky" Fuller, a beloved former girls basketball coach and educator who died Monday at the age of 52.
Norwalk High Principal Lynne Moore announced Fuller's death in a statement posted to social media Thursday.
According to Moore, Fuller formerly taught English at Norwalk High and was head coach of the school's girls basketball team.

During his time coaching the Bears, he led the team to three undefeated championships, as well as a state championship victory in 2019.
"Some members of our community may recall that Ricky's father, Richard Fuller Sr., was the director of the Carver Center and was on the Board of Education. He passed away a few years ago," Moore said in a statement. "Ricky's mother, Carolyn Fuller, was a paraeducator for many years at several Norwalk schools, including NHS, before her retirement. The Fuller family has had a long-standing reputation in the Norwalk community for caring for others."

According to his obituary posted by Graves Medley Funeral Services, Fuller was a lifelong resident of Norwalk. After he retired from his position with Norwalk Public Schools, Fuller continued to work as an educator with Bridgeport Public Schools.
In addition to youth development, Fuller mentored many youths through the Norwalk Housing Authority's after school program, the youth development program at the George Washington Carver Center in Norwalk "and countless experiences mentoring and nurturing youth," according to his obituary.
"His purpose was not a destination, but a journey filled with profound meaning and valuable lessons," his obituary reads.
A wake is scheduled to be held Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, located at 17 West Avenue in Norwalk, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A funeral will follow at 12:30 p.m.
