Bids Made for Norwalk Lighthouse

Peck Ledge Lighthouse was put out to bid.

The federal government got a high bid of $235,000 for Peck Ledge Lighthouse in Norwalk.

Six bidders submitted offers, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The lighthouse is about 1.5 miles from the Connecticut coast and has no dock.

41 lighthouses have been sold to the public from the federal government in the last 15 years. The first choice is for nonprofit preservation groups, but lighthouses can go on auction to the general public if none are interested.
