Bloomingdale's Norwalk Unveils New Campaign, Grand Opening Events

The store is set to open in The SoNo Collection on Nov. 14.

From Bloomingdale's: Bloomingdale’s is gearing up to introduce the Norwalk community to the retailer’s new full-line store with a welcoming campaign and exciting events. Opening on Nov. 14 that The SoNo Collection, the three-level, 150,000 square-foot space will feature fashion and beauty discoveries, along with an expansive home department inclusive of luxury furnishings, mattresses and décor. From wall-to-wall, customers can expect a variety of great brands under one roof including Burberry, Tory Burch, Salvatore Ferragamo, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Le Creuset and Maison Francis Kurkdjian,along with labels found exclusively at Bloomingdale’s like AQUA, LINI and Hudson Park.

The “Hey Norwalk, Meet Bloomingdale’s” campaign serves as a warm introduction for the Norwalk community to meet a space that was built exclusively for them. Imagery features playful copy that pairs personalities with the products and services they crave, and serves as a colloquial invite to explore the one-stop-shop. In one image, a serial selfie taker meets her new #OOTD while other campaign photos capture the feeling of a first-time home owner enjoying her new grown-up furniture piece and a home chef using tools that upgrade his kitchen into a professional one. Together, they show the variety of offerings one can expect from the new store.

“With our Norwalk store, we want to build a familial relationship with the community and this campaign is one way of doing so,” said Frank Berman, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Bloomingdale’s. “It has a conversational tone that’s meant to introduce new shoppers in the Connecticut area to the Bloomingdale’s brand, and excite those that are already familiar with us.”

The Bloomingdale’s Norwalk store will officially open on Thursday, November 14th at 10AM and the retailer will celebrate with four days of events that are open to the public. Being more than a store but a member of the community, Bloomingdale’s will support three Connecticut-based organizations by making a donation and hosting events that raise awareness for their work:

· 11/14: Cocktail party for Person-to-Person, a community-supported agency that provides individuals and families with assistance for basic needs to overcome daily challenges, and access to resources to improve their lives

· 11/16: Exhibits and a fashion show for the Stepping Stones Museum for Children, known for their award-winning interactive exhibits and educational programs

· 11/17: Family brunch for OPUS, an organization that supports Person-to-Person’s mission

Furthermore, Bloomingdale’s will host a brunch on November 14th with longtime partner JDRF, the world’s largest private funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Norwalk residents and visitors can also expect family friendly musical performances from local talents like Pete Francis and Friends with special guest Bakithi Kumalo, along with Paul Green Rock Academy. There will also be culinary demonstrations, arts and crafts for the little ones, cosmetic demos and other activities for the community to partake in.
