The Boating Season is Starting - Do You Have Your CT Safe Boating Certificate?

CT law requires owners of powerboats, and sailboats more than 19 1/2', to have a Safe Boating Certificate or Certificate of PWC Operation

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be conducting a safe boating course called "About Boating Safely" on Saturday, April 30th at the Greenwich Police Department. Course will run from 8:30am - 4:30pm.

This one-day course meets CT requirements for the Safe Boating Certificate and the Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation, as well as the new Safe Water-skiing Endorsement.

  • This new endorsement is now required since the passing of Emily's Law, which requires that in order to operate a vessel, or PWC, on CT waters that is towing a skier, tube, or has anyone riding the wake of a vessel, the operator has to be 1) age 16 or older, 2) have a valid boating certificate and 3) possess a CT Safe Water-skiing Endorsement.

Pre-Registration is Required: Please contact teachmeboating@optonline.net or call 203-856-5575 for questions & registration.
