Bobcat Spotted In Norwalk: Report
According to CT DEEP, the bobcat is the only wild cat found in Connecticut.

NORWALK, CT — A bobcat was spotted Thursday morning in the Wolfpit area of Norwalk, the Middletown Press reported. Residents spotted the animal on Peaceful Lane, which is off Murray Street at the Westport town line.

The bobcat is the only wild cat found in Connecticut and the most common wild cat in North America, according to the State Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The department describes the bobcat as "a stout-bodied, medium-sized feline, with a short, 'bobbed' tail."

A bobcat's diet includes cottontail rabbits, woodchucks, squirrels, chipmunks, mice and birds among other small animals. Bobcats also prey on domestic animals, including chickens, sheep, goats and small pigs.
Bobcats are most active before dawn and just after dusk. According to the department, bobcat attacks on people are "extremely rare."
