The year 2015 marks the year in which Bow Tie Cinemas will proudly celebrate its 115th anniversary. As part of its ongoing mission to deliver the best possible customer experience, Bow Tie Cinemas today announced large-scale renovation plans for its Sono Regent Cinema in South Norwalk, CT.

Starting in early 2015, Bow Tie Cinemas will begin a top to bottom renovation of the Sono Regent [at 64 N. Main St.]. Planned upgrades include:

  • luxury recliner stadium seating [in all eight auditoriums] and
  • reserved seating in all eight auditoriums,
  • brand new lobby and
  • [new] restrooms,
  • new concession stands,
  • a new menu of upscale full meal and beverage offerings, and
  • new auditorium décor.

"In the eight years since Bow Tie Cinemas purchased the Sono Regent, we have made numerous improvements, including the deployment of 100% digital projection, seating upgrades, sound upgrades and concession upgrades," says Ben Moss, CEO of Bow Tie Cinemas.

"The Regent continues to be a strong, popular movie-going destination and we believe the time is right to bring the next level of luxury and customer experience to the vibrant and growing South Norwalk community."

Founded by B.S. Moss in 1900, four generations of family ownership have guided Bow Tie Cinemas from its origins in Vaudeville to its current holdings of fifty-five theaters in the eastern United States with heavy concentrations in the New York DMA, southern Connecticut, the midAtlantic and the New York State Capital Region.
