Bridge Rehabilitation In Norwalk Announced: DOT

Here's when construction activities for the rehabilitation of the Route 136 bridge in Norwalk are set to begin.

NORWALK, CT — Construction activities for the rehabilitation of the bridge carrying Route 136 over the Norwalk River are set to begin April 1, according to a press release from the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The project involves the rehabilitation of Bridge 02295. Work includes repairs to the deck and riding surface on the bridge, concrete repairs to the substructure, structural steel repairs, repairs to the navigational fender system, minor mechanical and electrical upgrades and the replacement of a waste water line connection to the control house. Work is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 4, 2019, at a contract value of $3,125,031.
