Williams, the suspect, had fled the scene. Norwalk police detectives learned that she had allegedly caused a separate disturbance at another residence on Suncrest Road prior to the altercation with the victim, during which she allegedly threw an item that broke glass, which struck a small child.
"The child, who is not related to either the suspect or the victim, was not injured," police said.
Detectives eventually made contact with Williams, who turned her in at Norwalk Police Department.
She was held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on July 5.
