2026 Service of Remembrance

Norwalk Hospital will host its Annual Service of Remembrance for families of patients who died this past year at the hospital. “It will be an opportunity for people to recall their loved ones in community with others who have suffered loss”, said Rev. Debra Slade, Senior Director of Spiritual Care at Norwalk Hospital. The hospital’s chaplains will be available to offer support and care.

This memorial program will feature music by Rev. Chris Tate, soloist and Chaplain Janine Thwaite, pianist, candle lighting during the reading of names, and more. With this service, Rev. Debra Slade said, “We hope to provide support for those who grieve their loved ones and recognition of the time they spent at our hospital”.

Spiritual Care involves helping people through life transitions with a “supportive” presence and an awareness of the sacred. The Department of Spiritual Care includes members of many faith traditions who minister across religious boundaries with all people.
