Families are invited to attend the Word Alive Church Annual Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Word Alive Church, 536 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Event entrance is located off Arch Street.
This free community event, held in partnership with the Norwalk Police Department, will provide more than 1,000 pre-filled backpacks filled with essential school supplies to help students start the new school year prepared for success. Additional school supplies will also be available while supplies last.
Families will also enjoy a variety of free giveaways, including:
- 500 free kids' meal coupons from Outback Steakhouse
- 1,000 slices of pizza donated by Planet Pizza
- 50 coupons for $10 off a haircut from Prime Barbershop
- Giveaways from All About Kids Dental
The event is free and open to the public. Backpacks, school supplies, and giveaways will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
