"Lighting the Fires in Our Hearts" - Indigenous Teach-In at UU Westport

UU Westport is pleased to invite all in our community to this gathering of connection, support, learning and wisdom this Saturday, 10 AM-5PM. We will come together to learn from the teachings and guidance of three indigenous grandmothers. Nana Wilma, a Mayan Spiritual Guide, Marsha Forest a Wisdom Keeper of Mohawk ancestry, and Grandmother Nancy Andry of Algonquin and French heritage. 

Lunch will be provided, and this event is free.

This program is brought to us by our UU Westport Social Justice committee, Mending the Sacred Hoop. Its purpose is to engage congregants of all ages in activities such as worship services around the spiritual practices of indigenous people, educational sessions with native elders, and events highlighting the real needs of native people with the intention of taking collective action. These activities are based on inspiration, connection, and action.

UU Westport is a diverse and welcoming religious community, free of creed and dogma, and open to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. We welcome all who are in search of a non-judgmental, loving, safe community to come together to explore what it means to be human and alive in today's world, and how we can best serve one another and those around us, near and far. Our services, with child and nursery care, are every Sunday at 10 AM.
