Free Clothing Swap to promote sustainability & build community connections

Get ready to revamp your wardrobe and embrace sustainability! Art Monster Studio, DUCK DUCK SOAP, Sol & Luna Spirit Wellness, and Smiling Cat Upcycled Goods are thrilled to announce their Sustainable Clothing Swap, happening on Thurs, Oct 8th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Art Monster Studio.

This exciting event is more than just a clothes swap; it’s a celebration of conscious consumption, community collaboration, and a commitment to minimizing our environmental impact. The goal is to divert clothing from landfills while providing participants with a fun and budget-friendly opportunity to refresh their closets.

Duck Duck Soap, Sol & Luna, and Smiling Cat Upcycled Goods are thrilled to partner with Five Fingaz and Art Monster Studio for this event. Cait Fitzpatrick of DUCK DUCK SOAP says "Fast fashion is a major contributor to environmental waste, and clothing swaps are a fantastic way to promote a circular economy and give new life to pre-loved items.”

How It Works:

• Bring Your Clothes: Participants can bring up to 20 items of gently used adult clothing to donate. Please ensure all items are in good condition – think of things you would be comfortable loaning to a good friend.
• Shop the Swap: Attendees are encouraged to take up to 20 items.
• Give Back: Any leftover clothing will be donated to local organizations in need. This ensures that every item finds a new home and continues to benefit our community.
• Any items that are unsuitable for donating will be sent to Trashie Textile Recycling. Trashie recycles, reuses or repurposes 95% of textiles sent to them.

Guidelines for Donations:

• Good Condition Only: Please do not bring items with stains, tears, rips, or significant wear and tear.
• No Children’s Clothing: This swap is exclusively for adult clothing.
• Donation Drop off: Items may be dropped off at the Art Monster Studio @ 57 Chestnut Street, Norwalk before the event, starting Monday Oct 5th between 10am and 6pm. Items may also be brought the day of the event before 4pm. Please place items in the boxes provided.

• Art Monster Studio: Founded by Norwalk native & artist Five Fingaz

Art Monster Studio is a creative space where children and adults are invited to explore, have fun, get messy and express themselves freely. Through workshops and experiences, Five Fingaz has opened the studio’s doors to encourage creativity without judgment or expectation, giving each person the freedom to create in their own unique way. • Sol and Luna Spirit Wellness: Founded by Natalia Aristizabal: a community & heart-centered business making wellness, creativity, and self-expression accessible. A Norwalk native, mother, and creative entrepreneur, she draws on her Colombian heritage and training in Reiki, children’s yoga, mindfulness, and sound baths to curate experiences for all ages through her partnership with The Art Monster Studio and other local collaborations.
