Campaign Manager Allegedly Stole $500K From Employer: Norwalk PD
Norwalk police said gubernatorial candidate Oz Griebel's campaign manager was arrested on larceny charges.

NORWALK, CT — Police said gubernatorial candidate Oz Griebel's campaign manager, 31-year-old Kyle Lyddy of Danbury, was arrested Tuesday after being accused of stealing just over half a million dollars from a company in Norwalk. He was charged with first-degree larceny, police said.
According to a news release, Norwalk police said they received a complaint from a local company that Lyddy had misappropriated approximately $500,000 from the company.
"The misappropriation of funds took place over a two-year period while Lyddy was employed by the company," police said.

After an extensive month-long investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant was charging the accused with larceny. The investigation showed that just over $500,000 was stolen, police said.
According to NBC Connecticut, Griebel campaign officials said Lyddy had resigned from the campaign on Monday.

The Norwalk Hour reported Lyddy previously ran for state representative in Newtown’s 106th District in 2016 but lost to Eva Bermudez Zimmerman in the Democratic primary. He also served as chairman of the Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial Commission before stepping down in April.
