NORWALK, CT — As Election Day nears, city and Norwalk public works officials remind residents, candidates for election and business owners that campaign signs cannot be placed on city property.

According to a news release, the prohibition includes rights-of-way along roads, which can extend up to 10 feet beyond the pavement, as well as state Department of Transportation highways throughout Norwalk.

Campaign signs placed behind the sidewalk are permitted, however signs must be placed at least 10 feet from the curb if there is no sidewalk, according to city officials.
