Cancer Survivor Geoff Fox Sits Down With Former Colleague Ann Nyberg To Discuss Life
Nyberg Traveled to California to visit with Fox, whom she worked with for years at WTNH-TV.

Pancreatic cancer has one of the highest mortality rates among cancers, so former Connecticut meteorologist Geoff Fox knows that since his diagnosis and ongoing treatment of the disease, he is so far among the lucky ones.
He was diagnosed with the disease last summer, and following surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, he is currently cancer free, so former WTNH-TV colleague Ann Nyberg traveled to California to sit down with him to discuss his life in recovery.
"You know what it did?" says Fox to Nyberg when asked what the diagnosis has meant to him. "It's funny, it made me realize how happy I was. Isn't that weird? Here I was, maybe going to die, probably going to die, and all I could think of was, 'you know, my life is pretty good.'"

Through it all, he has remained "upbeat, loud [and] sarcastic," writes Nyberg, in addition to being thoroughly grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support. Fox's wife, Helaine, and his family and friends have been incredibly helpful and loving, too.

"People have said to me, 'I've said a prayer for you. You're in my prayers,'" he tells Nyberg. "And when someone says that, what that means is, in their most private, their most intimate moments with God, they thought that I was important enough to bring up my name to say a good word."
And for that, Geoff Fox will be forever thankful.
