Car, Container Catch Fire In Norwalk: FD
Fire officials said a car and a 40-foot container of rolled electrical conduit caught fire during a recent blaze in Norwalk.
NORWALK, CT — A container of rolled electrical conduit and a car on a nearby property caught fire during a blaze Monday afternoon in Norwalk, according to fire officials.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Shay said the container caught fire around 1 p.m. on Meadow Street.

According to Shay, the container's plastic burns at high temperatures and produces highly toxic smoke. The fire then spread to adjacent products, including a car on a nearby property.
Crews extinguished the fire in about an hour, Shay said. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Shay said.
