Charges Dropped Against Norwalk Man In Triple-Fatal Overdose: Report
There were "multiple deficiencies" with the state's case, the Norwalk Hour reported.
NORWALK, CT — Manslaughter charges have been dropped against a Norwalk man who was accused of selling fentanyl-laced cocaine to three people who ultimately died from overdoses in 2020, the Norwalk Hour reported.
Xavier Flores, 39, will not face three counts of first-degree manslaughter due to "multiple deficiencies" in the case, Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Nemec said this week, according to the Hour.
On July 16, 2020, Stamford police responded to a report of three unresponsive occupants in a blue Toyota RAV4 parked near St. Benedict Circle and Dale Street in Stamford, police said.

Firefighters and medics used multiple doses of Narcan, the medicine that rapidly reverses the effects of a drug overdose, but two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The third person was taken to Stamford Hospital where he later died.
Nemec said there were issues obtaining evidence from the victims' cell phones during the investigation, and inconsistencies with drugs Flores sold to undercover officers and the drugs found with the victims and in their toxicology reports, the Hour reported.

Flores was arrested on April 20, 2022. He still faces sale of narcotics, conspiracy, and failure to comply with fingerprint charges, according to the CT Judicial Branch website.
Flores is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 8, 2024.
