Church Hosts 11th Annual Trunk or Treat Event

The yearly event has drawn hundreds of Norwalk families over the years who are grateful for the safe alternative to trick-or-treating .

From Word Alive Church:Word Alive Bible Church of Norwalk is once again hosting a community-wide, “Trunk or Treat” event on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the church parking lot at 536 West Avenue. The annual, free event boasts a variety of fun activities, in addition to candy-filled trunks for kids of all ages.

“We look forward to this event every year as a way to reach out to the entire Norwalk community,” Reverend Artie Kassimis said. “This year our trunk theme is Superheroes, so we are excited to see the many creative ways our church members will decorate their trunks for the children of Norwalk.”

When the little ones are not filling their bags with candy, they can spend some time in the ever-popular bouncy house, which was a big hit last year at its launch. Additionally, there will be several arts and crafts stations, including pumpkin decorating, sand art, and candy apple making. Free baked goods will be handed out in the church café.

The yearly event has drawn hundreds of Norwalk families over the years who are grateful for the safe alternative to trick-or-treating for their children. It is also a wonderful gathering for the community to come together in a positive and welcoming environment.

“We’re grateful to be able to host this event each year. In the spring, we hosted our first city-wide Easter Egg Hunt, and it was a resounding success,” Janice Kassimis said. “This year’s Trunk or Treat promises to be our best yet and we welcome everyone to come out and join us.”
