Construction Company To Close After 100 Years In Norwalk: Report
Deering Construction in Norwalk plans to close this spring after 104 years in business, according to media reports.
NORWALK, CT — Deering Construction, a family-run business in Norwalk, plans to close this spring after 104 years in business, News 12 Connecticut reports. The business, which once employed over 40 workers, is now exclusively run by brothers Dan and Mike Deering.
According to News 12 Connecticut, Deering Construction has worked on a number of significant projects in its century-long history, including the construction of the Merritt Parkway and the Cloverleaf Interchange in Norwalk.
Requests for comment from Deering Construction were not immediately returned Friday.

Deering Construction has been serving Fairfield County and beyond since 1919, according to the company's Facebook page. Located on Sheehan Avenue in Norwalk, the company specializes in asphalt, concrete, masonry and more.
The company also plans to auction off some of its equipment Saturday as part of a "retirement auction."
