Create a World Without Type 1 Diabetes; Join the JDRF One Walk on September 25 at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk

Charitable outdoor walk event that is fun for all families, kids and anyone with diabetes

JDRF One Walk has a single goal: creating a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). Join thousands across the country as they walk and raise money for life-changing research for the millions affected by this devastating disease.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. If you have T1D, your pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. This means you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, inject or infuse insulin from a pump and carefully monitor your eating and activity every single day. There is nothing you can do to prevent T1D. And—currently—there is no cure. But there is something you can do to help.

Hundreds of JDRF One Walks will occur across the country in September and October; the money raised will support JDRF—the leading global organization funding T1D research. In Norwalk, sponsors like Fairfield County Parent, Stop & Shop, The Edge Fitness Clubs, M.C. Fish Entertainment, Danbury Titans Pro Hockey and Dexcom help fund entertainment on Walk day, making it not only a great fundraising event but a fun one, too. Come walk with a committed community that is passionate about doing whatever it takes to help JDRF turn Type One into Type None.
