CT Native And Former Trump Spokesperson Joins Fox Corp.: Report

He is a Cornell University graduate, as well as a 2002 graduate of Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — Raj Shah, a Norwalk native and former spokesperson for President Donald Trump, has been named a senior Vice President at Fox Corp., first reported on Twitter by The Washington Post's Josh Dawsey.

Shah's exact duties are not known, but the 2002 graduate of Brien McMahon High School will be based in Washington DC, which likely means he will be working in a government affairs capacity, writes CNN.

During his tenure at the White House, one of Shah's most visible contributions was shepherding the Administrations's media strategy during the contentious confirmation process of Supreme Court Justice Bret Kavanaugh, writes Deadline.

At Fox, Shah will report to Viet Dinh, the company's chief legal and policy officer, as does Greenwich native Hope Hicks, who also left the Trump Administration and joined Fox last fall.

The relationship between Fox and the Trump Administration has been a cozy one, with not only Shah and Hicks leaving and joining the media giant, but also former Deputy Chief of Staff Bill Shine leaving Fox to join the Trump Administration, only to leave in less than a year.

A Cornell University graduate, Shah was principal deputy press secretary at the White House under Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and he also has worked for the Republican National Committee.

He also volunteered for former Republican U.S. Rep. Chris Shays while in high school, and interned for former U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, according to his Wikipedia page.

After leaving the White House, Shah worked at lobbying firm Ballard Partners, reports the Stamford Advocate.
