From Norwalk Public Library: Norwalk Public Library is pleased to welcome Dennis Bradbury in a talk about her father, “With Love and Gratitude:Remembering Editor Walter I. Bradbury,” on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m., in the Main library, located at 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk.

Based on a library installation of five narrative posters, Dennis Bradbury will share anecdotes that honor her father, editor Walter I. Bradbury’s enthusiastic collaboration with iconic authors of the 20th century. Walter I. (Brad) Bradbury (1914 - 1996) grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He was an editor at Doubleday and other legendary New York City publishing houses during four decades of change in the Golden Era of American publishing after World War II. He had the privilege of working closely with renowned writers who left their mark on the 20th century and beyond.

Known as Norwalk’s “mother of the arts,” Dennis Bradbury held her 22 Haviland Gallery’s final summer show in July, after 17 years. Bradbury plans to sell the house at 22 Haviland Street, and move on to her next adventure.
