Double Stabbing Reported In Norwalk, Suspect Arrested

Both victims were seriously wounded in the Tuesday assault, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — Two people suffered serious wounds Tuesday morning when they were stabbed during an argument in a room at the Hilton Garden Hotel on Main Avenue in Norwalk, according to police.

A suspect in the stabbing was arrested later in the day and charged with two counts of first-degree assault. Both victims were treated at Norwalk Hospital following the 11:30 a.m. assault, but their current conditions were not available.

Officers were sent to the hotel Tuesday morning following a report of the stabbing, and immediately provided medical attention to the victims until ambulances arrived.

"According to those involved, the suspect had walked off prior to police arrival," police said in a statement. "The violence apparently followed an argument over money. The individuals were known to each other."

Rosemarie Olivio, 36, of Kossuth Street in Norwalk, was identified as the suspect in the stabbing. Her description was given out to officers who began searching for her, as detectives processed the room where the assault occurred and found the knife Olivio is believed to have used in the attack.

"At approximately 6 PM, Officers who are assigned to the Strategic Narcotic Enforcement Team located a woman matching the description of Olivio in the area of Larson Street and detained her, confirming her identity," police said.

Olivio was held in lieu of bail of $200,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21.
