Police said a Norwalk man was charged with fleeing the scene of a crash after his license plate was found embedded in another vehicle.

NORWALK, CT — Police said a Norwalk man was charged with fleeing the scene of a crash after his license plate was found embedded in another vehicle, the Norwalk Hour reported. Police said the accused was seen striking road barriers by a city employee before crashing into another car, then taking off.

According to the Hour, officers responded to 24-year-old Miguel Colocho-Martinez's home after being alerted of the alleged incident. Officers administered a field sobriety test after the worker identified the accused, however they said there was no probable cause to charge him with driving under the influence.

Police said as officers were investigating, another officer called in and reported to have found the accused's license plate attached to the bumper of the car that had been hit, according to the Hour.
